About The Position

Under the direction of the PAS supervisor/manager, the Patient Access Representative assists patients during on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits and completes financial clearance functions. For unscheduled visits, the role includes registering patients, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, and collecting known patient liability at the time of service. The representative also performs financial clearance functions for assigned scheduled accounts. The role greets and serves patients professionally, in a friendly and respectful manner, and gathers and documents information promptly and accurately in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.

This is a full-time, day-shift, onsite position with Providence Revenue Cycle Business Services. Providence describes its culture as patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respect.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
• Three years of experience in Patient Access or a business office setting.
• Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
• Three years of using medical terminology in a job setting.
• Knowledge of medical billing codes.
• One year of knowledge of Epic Applications.

Responsibilities
