About The Position

Under the direction of the PAS supervisor or manager, the Patient Access Representative assists patients with on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits and completes financial clearance functions. For unscheduled visits, the role completes registration by collecting accurate demographic and insurance information and collecting patient liability, if known, at the time of service. The coordinator also performs financial clearance functions for assigned scheduled accounts.

The Patient Access Representative greets and serves patients professionally, warmly, and respectfully to promote positive encounters. Information must be gathered in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements and documented accurately and promptly. This is a full-time, day-shift, onsite position with Providence Revenue Cycle Business Services, an organization focused on patient-centered, whole-person care.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in healthcare or business administration.
• Three years of experience in Patient Access or a business office setting.
• Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
• Three years of experience using medical terminology in a job setting.
• Knowledge of medical billing codes.
• One year of experience with Epic Applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits.
• Complete registration for unscheduled visits, including collecting accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Collect patient liability at the time of service when known.
• Perform financial clearance functions for assigned scheduled accounts.
