About The Position

Under general direction, the Patient Access Representative I completes tasks associated with specific assignments, which may include registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, and cashier duties as assigned by Revenue Cycle Management. The representative is expected to perform assigned tasks in accordance with the quality and productivity standards for the position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience in Patient Access, medical billing, or customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, Windows-based applications, and 10-key calculators.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in health care, finance, or a related area; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted.
• Certification in medical billing, coding, or an equivalent job-specific certification.
• Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10.
• One year of experience in Revenue Cycle.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned Patient Access Representative I tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
• Respond promptly, professionally, and courteously to customer needs.
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with McLaren Health Care team members.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time under general direction, seeking guidance from Representative II, Representative III, or a supervisor when needed.
