About The Position

The Patient Access Representative I efficiently and accurately processes patient registrations, schedules appointments, and verifies insurance coverage. This role supports a positive patient experience and the hospital’s commitment to high-quality healthcare services. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, in Glenbrook, Illinois, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No travel is required.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Health Administration.
Experience using patient registration and scheduling systems.

Previous experience in patient access, healthcare administration, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients courteously and professionally during registration.
Collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the hospital’s electronic health records system.
Schedule appointments for healthcare services in coordination with patients and clinical departments.
Verify patient contact information and confirm appointment details.
Verify insurance coverage and eligibility and confirm policy information.
Collaborate with insurance providers and billing teams to address insurance-related issues.
Explain registration and scheduling processes, financial responsibilities, and available payment options to patients.
Communicate clearly with patients and address their questions and concerns.
Review patient registration and insurance information for accuracy.
Promptly address discrepancies or errors in patient access records and work with the team to resolve them.
Promote a positive patient experience by minimizing wait times, maintaining a welcoming environment, and providing exceptional customer service.
Help patients feel comfortable and informed during registration and scheduling.
