About The Position

The University of Miami Health System at Doral is hiring a full-time, on-site Patient Access Representative 1. The role registers patients for clinical services by collecting relevant information, verifying insurance benefits, and accepting payments. The position is based at UHealth's Downtown Doral facility, an ambulatory services hub offering care across multiple specialties and institutes.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of relevant experience.
General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
Data-entry skills with minimal errors.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

Complete patient registration and verify insurance, ensuring patient information is accurate.
Obtain copies of insurance cards, driver's licenses, and applicable referrals.
Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA forms and obtain patient signatures.
Instruct patients to complete any questionnaires required by the physician.
Schedule follow-up appointments, cancel or edit appointments, and accurately record no-shows.
Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the designated area.
Answer telephone calls, respond to questions and inquiries, or transfer calls when appropriate.
Follow University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Perform other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
