Patient Access/Registration Specialist

About The Position
The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact and guides patients through the admissions process. The role screens patients for insurance eligibility and maintains accurate patient demographic information, ensuring information is current and entered correctly for claims processing. The position reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Director. This is a full-time position with work hours Monday through Friday and a required Saturday rotation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of insurance plans and billing terminology.
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including Medicare and Medicaid HMO plans.
Responsibilities
- Collect and validate patient demographic and insurance information in the patient chart for accurate and timely claims filing.
- Validate insurance eligibility for all patients for future medical needs and claims processing.
- Collect patient copays to be applied to the patient visit.
