About The Position

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Our progressive team members in the fields of psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, education and activity therapy are all committed to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that uniquely fits the intensity and severity of each patient’s needs. This commitment extends to the family and community of our patients as a whole. We offer a continuum of mental health and addiction services through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT programs. Our overall goal is to provide the highest quality treatment possible for drug abuse and mental health issues in order to help our patients achieve good health and long-term sobriety. Fort Lauderdale BH is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patient Access Registrar - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Nights 7:00PM - 7:30AM 3 - 12 Hour shifts weekly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one (1) year business office experience preferred in Health Care/Insurance Verification and Collections with computer knowledge and data entry skills.
  • One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of patient care techniques regarding co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients with understanding of co-occurring disorders, preferred.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
  • Current Florida Driver’s License (may be required to drive company van on occasion)
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Must pass competency exams within 90 days of hire.
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

  • Works independently
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and manage stress appropriately.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Good customer service skills
  • Understands & practices effective motivational techniques.
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to problem-solve & communicate clearly, both verbally & in writing.
  • Demonstrates regular, required attendance.
  • Effectively interacts with patients, peers, & families.
