About The Position

The Patient Access Intake Representative will perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization. This role ensures patient compliance with hospital policy, obtains accurate patient information for safety and optimal reimbursement, and determines and collects patient liabilities.

Requirements

Medical Terminology Certificate required.
Demonstrated communication & interpersonal skills are required.
Strong computer skills including medical based programs required.
Three (3) years related health care experience including working with third party payers is required.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, and other software programs is preferred.
CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization.
Insure patient compliance with applicable hospital policy.
Obtain accurate patient information to insure patient safety and optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with various external regulations.
Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.
