About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Patient Access ED Registrar who will embrace Adventist HealthCare’s mission to extend God’s care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing. The registrar creates patient medical records and account numbers by obtaining and accurately entering demographic, financial, and clinical information into the host computer system. The role also includes verifying insurance, helping meet point-of-service collection and departmental goals, and providing compassionate service to patients.

This is a part-time position scheduled for 20 hours per week on rotating night shifts. The schedule alternates between Sunday and Tuesday in one week, and Monday and Saturday in the next. Weekend work is required, and holiday work follows the company holiday calendar. The position is non-exempt.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment and PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of previous hospital or doctor’s office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originate patient medical records and account numbers by obtaining and accurately entering demographic, financial, and clinical information into the host computer system.
• Complete insurance verification to maximize reimbursement for Adventist HealthCare.
• Meet point-of-service collection goals and assist in achieving departmental goals.
• Provide compassionate service to patients and demonstrate actions and attitudes that contribute to the organization’s Critical Success factors.
