About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Coordinator in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Patient Access Coordinators contribute to the revenue cycle by completing the admissions process for inpatients and outpatients and collecting accurate information used for claims. The role requires exemplary customer service, sensitivity to confidential information, and helping patients understand their rights under HIPAA regulations and company policy. Insurance experience and training are important to success. The employee maintains compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements for access services and handles insurance eligibility verification, compliance, point-of-service estimates, and collections. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. Travel to other Baptist Health locations or facilities may be required as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to type 40–45 words per minute.

Nice To Haves

• Registration experience preferred.
• Extensive insurance experience or training is vital to success in the role.

Responsibilities

• Complete the admissions process for inpatient and outpatient patients.
• Collect accurate information used in claims while protecting its confidentiality.
• Ensure patients are aware of their rights under HIPAA regulations and company policy.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements regarding access services.
• Verify insurance eligibility and handle compliance, point-of-service estimates, and collections.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations.
