About The Position

Baptist Health Medical Group is hiring a Patient Access Coordinator for Vascular Surgery in New Albany, Indiana. This full-time, first-shift role supports patient access services by registering and pre-registering patients, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, communicating payment expectations, and providing customer service to patients and office staff. The coordinator maintains accurate patient visit information, uses applicable access software systems, follows relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and completes required training. Registration experience is preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Registration experience is preferred.
Customer service skills.

Experience or background in patient access, coordination, front desk or front office work, reception, clinics, customer service, or administrative work.

Responsibilities

Register patients accurately and promptly, obtaining demographic and insurance information.
Direct patients, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries.
Verify eligibility, Medicare compliance, and benefits before visits.
Use applicable patient access software systems.
Estimate patient responsibility and perform point-of-service collections.
Communicate with patients about benefit details, payment expectations, and payment plans.
Pre-register patients and discuss benefits with them during pre-registration and when they are present in the department.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, employees, physicians, and office staff.
Maintain and update patient visit information in the system.
Follow legal requirements and state and federal regulations applicable to access services.
Complete required ongoing training and education, including department-specific requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested to maintain a high level of service.
