About The Position

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Access Coordinator for its Primary Care team in Crestwood, Kentucky. The role helps create a smooth and welcoming patient experience from the moment patients arrive or call. The coordinator supports patient access and registration operations while providing compassionate service in a fast-paced healthcare environment and collaborating with the team.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong computer and data entry skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and provide outstanding customer service in person and over the phone.
Register patients accurately by collecting demographic, insurance, and visit information.
Verify insurance eligibility, Medicare compliance, and patient benefits before appointments.
Pre-register patients and discuss insurance benefits and financial responsibilities with confidence and compassion.
Calculate patient responsibility estimates and collect point-of-service payments while explaining payment expectations and available payment options.
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
Use patient access and registration software to support efficient office operations.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations related to patient access services.
Complete ongoing education and training requirements.
Perform additional administrative duties as needed to support the team.
