About The Position

A Patient Access Registration Specialist I provides customer service and facilitates patient registration and scheduling at Intermountain Health. The caregiver collects and enters accurate patient information, verifies insurance and eligibility, collects co-pays and balances, and follows up on pending issues. The role requires adherence to Intermountain Health policies and procedures and to federal and state requirements for patient privacy and confidentiality. The position is located at Northglenn Healthcare Pavilion in Northglenn, Colorado, and is scheduled for 36 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $19.41–$28.14, with the actual rate dependent on experience.

Requirements

Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, the internet, and email.
Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience with Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously and professionally.
Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.
Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures.
Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and balances due at the time of service.
Provide information about financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care.
Explain consent forms, policies, and disclosures and obtain signatures.
Provide directions, maps, and parking information to patients.
Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient flow and quality care.
Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
Follow up on pending issues, including prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
Follow applicable organizational policies and federal and state patient privacy and confidentiality requirements.
