EE/CS Patent Agent: Telecom, AI & Software
About The Position
MNF Global, a national legal search firm focused on IP, patent, and technology attorney placements, presents an opportunity with a highly regarded IP practice in Houston. The practice is seeking a Patent Prosecution Agent with at least three years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications for sophisticated technology clients. The role involves work on telecommunications, AI, software, and computer systems within a broad national IP platform. The position offers direct client exposure and meaningful responsibility in an entrepreneurial practice environment, with an opportunity to grow within an expanding IP practice. Expected compensation is approximately $140,000–$160,000, depending on experience and technical background.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of law firm patent prosecution experience.
- Strong patent drafting and prosecution background.
- Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical degree.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work directly with clients.
Nice To Haves
- USPTO registration preferred.
- Experience with telecommunications, AI, software, or related technologies preferred.
Responsibilities
- Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
- Work directly with inventors, engineers, and in-house counsel.
- Advise clients on patent strategy and portfolio development.
- Handle technologies related to telecommunications, AI, software, and computer systems.
- Collaborate with attorneys across a broad national IP platform.
