About The Position

The Pastry Decorator assists the bakery department in preparing fresh baked goods daily by following recipes, labeling products, and storing baked goods. This role prepares and assembles quality food products in a fast-paced environment and serves as a company role model by providing excellent customer service while maintaining company core values. The position works with the pastry team and management to meet customer and department needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout the shift while moving around the store and handling merchandise.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers, addressing questions and concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Assist the pastry team with preparing desserts and pastries as needed.
• Take cake orders, ensure fresh fruit and products are available, and maintain a fully stocked display case.
• Support baking of breads, cookies, desserts, and pan dulce.
• Decorate cakes and pastries for customers, using artistic skills to create designs and mix icing colors.
• Communicate effectively with management and the baking team to address guest requests and employee needs.
• Conduct inventory regularly to ensure proper product levels.
• Maintain quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department condition, and food safety standards.
• Stock, fill, and face products; ensure pricing accuracy; monitor product rotation; and discard outdated or spoiled items.
• Operate professional bakery equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Take food orders in person and by telephone.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service, engage with customers, and improve the speed and efficiency of service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
