About The Position

The Pastry Clerk delivers quality customer service in a retail store environment and serves as a role model for the company by providing excellent customer service while upholding company core values. The role supports pastry production and presentation, helps maintain product availability and freshness, and follows standards for cleanliness, safety, sanitation, and food safety. The clerk also assists customers with questions and orders and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Customer service and retail experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers in a friendly, service-oriented manner to address questions or concerns.
• Organize products in display cases and on tables, keeping cases fully stocked.
• Support the team in baking breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce.
• Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety.
• Stock, fill, and face products; ensure pricing accuracy; monitor product rotation; and discard outdated or spoiled items.
• Use pastry equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Take food orders in person and by telephone.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and engage with customers.
• Improve the speed and efficiency of service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
