About The Position

The Pastry Clerk delivers quality customer service in a retail store environment and serves as a role model for the company by providing excellent service while maintaining its core values. The role supports pastry department operations, including displaying and stocking products, assisting with baking, taking orders, and maintaining quality, safety, sanitation, and food-safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handlers Card.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service and retail experience is desirable.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers in a friendly, service-oriented manner and address their questions or concerns.
• Organize products in display cases and on tables, keeping cases fully stocked.
• Support the team in baking breads, cookies, desserts, and pan dulce.
• Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety.
• Stock, fill, and face products; ensure pricing accuracy; rotate pastry products; and discard outdated or spoiled items.
• Use professional pastry equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Take food orders in person and by telephone.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and engage with customers.
• Improve the speed and efficiency of service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
