About The Position

The Pastry Clerk delivers quality customer service in a retail store environment and serves as a role model for the company by providing excellent service while maintaining its core values. The role supports pastry department operations by organizing and stocking products, assisting with baking breads, cookies, and desserts, and maintaining quality, cleanliness, safety, sanitation, and food-safety standards. The clerk also takes food orders in person and by telephone.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handlers Card.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service and retail experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to address questions or concerns in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Organize products in display cases and on tables, ensuring cases are fully stocked.
• Support the team in baking breads, cookies, and desserts, including pan dulce.
• Maintain standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, department conditions, and food safety.
• Stock, fill, and face products; ensure pricing accuracy; rotate pastry products; and discard outdated or spoiled items.
• Use professional pastry equipment, including heat sources, mixers, and blenders.
• Take food orders in person and by telephone.
• Demonstrate customer-service excellence, engage with customers, and improve service speed and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
