Pashto Medical Interpreter
About The Position
The Pashto Medical Interpreter facilitates communication between Pashto and English speakers as a remote interpreter. The role requires quickly and accurately processing information in a professional manner and working from a quiet, secure home office. Interpreters follow established interpretation protocols and may explain cultural concepts to prevent miscommunication, with permission or at the client's request. Ongoing training and competency opportunities are provided. Compensation is paid monthly at a per-minute rate. Depending on location, language testing, a background check, and/or a drug screen may be required.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and Pashto.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain accuracy.
- Proficiency at a bilingual or native level in English and the target language.
- Computer or laptop running Windows 10 or higher.
- USB wired headset.
- Steady wired internet connection.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of interpretation experience is preferred.
- Note pads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools.
