About The Position

The Parts Warehouse-Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. The role includes checking shipments against documentation, preparing and labeling outgoing packages, handling returned or damaged goods, and moving loads between shipping, receiving, storage, and work areas. The position is full-time and requires availability every other weekend.

Requirements

• Available to work full-time and every other weekend.
• Current, valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and individual customers.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Related experience or parts warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of car parts.

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh, and measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
• Determine shipping methods using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Select containers and assemble them when necessary.
• Pack items using appropriate spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
• Secure containers and apply proper shipping labels.
• Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to resolve damages and shortages.
• Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications.
• Operate a tier-lift truck or use a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist loads between shipping and receiving platforms, storage, and work areas.
• Receive damaged or defective goods returned to the establishment.
• Receive unsold products returned by the Parts Driver.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
