About The Position

Coulter Automotive Group is seeking a Parts Counterperson to support its team and provide customers with exceptional experiences in a fast-paced, professional workplace. The role oversees parts sales from start to finish and provides high-level service to internal and external customers. The Parts Counterperson communicates about parts status, identifies and prices parts, fulfills and checks stock orders, handles out-of-stock parts, and processes customer payments or credit authorization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Prior auto parts sales experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Discuss customer parts status effectively and efficiently.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and discussing specific parts.
• Answer phone calls and provide customers with price quotes and other information.
• Review body shop estimates to verify that ordered parts are correct and pricing aligns with the estimate.
• Provide high-level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull and fill orders from stock and conduct weekly bin checks to ensure stock accuracy.
• Notify the parts manager about out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing immediate attention.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders when necessary.
• Ensure internal parts requests are billed on service repair orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
