About The Position

Truck Centers, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused Parts Counter Sales Representative to help customers find commercial vehicle and equipment parts in person and over the phone. The role is based in a lively, fast-paced environment and calls for strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and an interest in parts or mechanics. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a rotation every fourth Saturday. The role includes assisting customers with parts sales, looking up parts and technical information, checking inventory, processing transactions and returns, coordinating orders, following up with customers, and entering part numbers for repair orders.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Thorough knowledge of basic computer operations and inventory control systems.
Demonstrated customer service and communication skills.
Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects with attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Ability to lift or move up to 80 lbs. unassisted.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of parts sales experience is highly preferable.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with parts sales over the counter and by phone.
Look up parts and technical information, check inventory, and locate stock within the TCI network.
Complete sales transactions accurately and promptly in accordance with TCI policies, including verifying signatures, credit cards, and customer identity.
Schedule orders for shipment, delivery, or customer pickup and ensure they are processed promptly.
Issue credits for returned parts after verifying purchase details against original invoices or reference numbers.
Follow up with customers about order status, provide estimates, and make routine sales calls.
Accurately enter part numbers to determine costs on repair orders.
