About The Position

The Parts Counter position assists customers with parts inquiries and purchases, manages inventory, processes transactions, and provides knowledgeable support regarding parts and accessories. The role also supports internal dealership operations by collaborating with service and sales departments.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive or machinery industry.
Proven customer service experience in a retail or parts environment.
Strong knowledge of automotive or machinery parts and components.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and software used for inventory and sales transactions.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and handle heavy parts and equipment as needed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience with inventory management systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in identifying and locating appropriate parts and accessories.
Provide advice and recommendations based on customer inquiries and needs.
Process sales transactions accurately and complete required documentation.
Maintain an organized, well-stocked inventory; conduct regular inventory checks and restock as needed.
Coordinate with service and sales departments to fulfill internal parts orders and support dealership operations.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and advancements in parts and accessories.
Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies.
Assist with preparing and conducting parts promotions and sales events.
Keep the parts counter area clean, organized, and professional.
