About The Position

Alta Equipment Company is seeking a full-time Parts Counter Associate for its Case Construction Equipment Group at the Cranberry, PA location. The position processes and sells parts, supports customers and internal teams, helps manage parts inventory and shipping and receiving, and maintains an orderly department. The associate is expected to incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities, perform other duties as assigned, and maintain consistent, reliable attendance, including being ready to work at the designated start time.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required; a chauffeur’s license is preferred.
High school diploma or GED.
Basic mechanical understanding and ability to identify industry-related equipment parts by sight and by name.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
Knowledge and understanding of the difference between markup and gross margin.
Proper phone etiquette.
Basic language skills: ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
Basic mathematical skills: ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
Basic reasoning ability: use common-sense understanding to follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical ability to use hands and talk/hear regularly; sit frequently; and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Vision sufficient for close and distance viewing, depth perception, focus adjustment, and color vision.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 26 to 100+ pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of previous heavy equipment, automotive, or truck parts counter experience is desired.
Case New Holland equipment and/or tractor parts experience is desired.
A chauffeur’s license is preferred.
Forklift operation and hydraulic hose making are preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Epicor/Silk systems, and vendor web portals.

Responsibilities

Process parts purchases and sales.
Actively sell parts.
Ensure part margins meet Alta policies.
Ensure customer satisfaction, including for internal customers.
Work effectively and efficiently with parts shipping and receiving.
Maintain department order and cleanliness.
Assist with physical inventory counts.
Deliver parts to various customers.
Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain consistent, regular, reliable attendance and be ready to work at the designated start time.
