The primary purpose of the Core Clerk is to manage the incoming and outgoing core inventory. This includes verifying daily that all credited dirty cores are accounted for, either physically or as a pre-credited core. The clerk will inspect all dirty cores for damage or non-returnable conditions and communicate with the Parts Counter, Inventory Controller, or Parts Manager when cores are missing or do not meet acceptable criteria. The role involves organizing and controlling all used cores while holding them for return to suppliers, and preparing, packing, and shipping dirty core returns according to supplier guidelines. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all supplier's core acceptance policies and procedures is essential. Additionally, the clerk may be required to pull parts orders when workload demands and perform other assigned duties.
