About The Position

The Parts Advisor assists in maintaining all aspects of the dealership sales department, including parts and trailer sales. The role serves customers at the parts counter, processes transactions and sales paperwork, supports parts inventory and ordering, and coordinates with the service department to meet repair-job needs. The Parts Advisor also assists with service scheduling and helps maintain the appearance and organization of the offices and facility.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
May substitute three years of commissioned sales experience for the education qualification.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to work Monday through Saturday and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years of commissioned sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers at the parts counter in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
Identify customer needs and recommend suitable parts.
Process parts transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register and My Trailer Force (MTF).
Answer inbound calls and make outbound and follow-up sales calls.
Prepare sales paperwork and invoices.
Receive and inspect incoming parts shipments.
Maintain organized inventory and update stock levels.
Order parts to replenish stock and ensure timely delivery.
Keep current with industry trends and updates.
Monitor customer buying habits and adjust minimum and maximum stock levels.
Conduct regular cycle counts and collaborate with the team to prevent shortages.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide detailed information about parts.
Provide customer service and assist customers in locating and ordering special or hard-to-find parts.
Work with the service department to identify and order parts required for service jobs and coordinate to meet job timelines.
Assist with service scheduling.
Assist in maintaining the general appearance and organization of the offices and facility.
