About The Position

Arbour Counseling Services’ Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Clinic offers a clinical internship beginning in May 2027. The program provides training and supervision to students on the role and responsibilities of a counselor or therapist within a multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare system. Interns gain clinical experience in a setting focused on quality care and documentation. The internship is unpaid and on-site, with an expected commitment of 24 hours per week over three days, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dates are determined by the Director to support the clinical experience. The internship program is described as a full-year program. Interns receive weekly supervision from an independently licensed behavioral health provider (LICSW or LMHC), as well as access to additional on-the-spot supervision from supervisors and other clinicians. The program includes regular in-services, professional development, support with work/life/school balance, and feedback on student goals and recordkeeping. Interns complete evaluations provided by Arbour and their academic program. The placement provides experience in group work, intakes, case management, crisis management, clinical assessment and diagnosis, treatment planning, therapy interventions, aftercare planning, program operations, multidisciplinary collaboration, insurance authorizations, level-of-care assessments, and medical-necessity justification. Interns may take up to four weeks of vacation during the year, with dates subject to approval by the Director. PHP clinics close only for major holidays listed in the posting; interns are not guaranteed days off immediately before or after holidays.
