About The Position

Fasken is seeking an experienced individual to fill the role of Business Partner, Human Resources. You will act as a strategic partner to our professionals and managers, supporting them in their human and organizational challenges. Your role will involve analyzing various situations, formulating recommendations tailored to the needs of the environment, and contributing to the implementation of HR initiatives that support business objectives. Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or business administration.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR business partner role.
  • Have demonstrated experience in managing complex files related to labor relations, performance, compensation, talent development, and organizational change.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des CRHA or in the process of becoming one.
  • Possess a good level of bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written. Bilingualism is essential, as you will be called upon to collaborate regularly with colleagues in different offices across Canada.
  • Master Quebec labor laws and standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to quickly build trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrate rigor, ethics, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive files.
  • Possess strong professional judgment and analyze situations with nuance, considering human, operational, and organizational impacts.
  • Ability to formulate clear recommendations, take a position, and influence decisions credibly and constructively.
  • Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and proactivity in identifying issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Be comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced, and excellence-oriented professional environment.
  • Act as a change agent and support professionals and managers in adopting new practices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an HR expert and provide close support to the professionals and managers of the assigned groups.
  • Act as a trusted partner to managers, assisting them in analyzing complex situations, decision-making, risk management, and the application of consistent management practices aligned with Fasken's culture and values regarding team management: performance management, labor relations, compensation, development, engagement, and talent retention.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client groups' business sectors and operational issues to propose pragmatic HR solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Participate in the design and ensure the deployment of various HR programs and projects related to talent development, well-being, recognition, and engagement.
  • Design, deploy, and facilitate presentations, training sessions, and co-development sessions for professionals and/or managers.
  • Contribute to workforce planning and monitoring, and collaborate with the talent acquisition team to define recruitment needs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR practices, processes, tools, and programs to support the evolution of the function and the firm's needs.
  • Monitor HR trends and the integration of AI, anticipate issues, and propose solutions adapted to the business context.
