About The Position

A family in Larchmont, New York, is seeking a warm, engaging, and experienced academic tutor to support two high-school-aged children, primarily their 14-year-old daughter in ninth grade. The student earns generally A and B grades and has ADHD; she is finding the transition to high school challenging, especially with organisation, time management, and planning assignments and larger projects. The tutor will provide homework support across high school subjects while helping her build effective study habits, independence, and confidence. The family hopes to establish a positive, consistent relationship that can continue throughout the student’s high school years. The schedule is three days per week for two hours per session, ideally Monday through Thursday, with a preferred time of approximately 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Earlier hours may be possible for the right candidate. The role is in person at the family’s home. Occasional academic support for the family’s tenth-grade student may also be needed. Compensation is $75–$100+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, for an anticipated six hours per week.
