About The Position

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool in Spanish to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish language, Hispanic literatures and cultures, and/or Hispanic linguistics. Areas of Specialization We are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals to teach in the following subject areas: Spanish language (introductory to advanced), Hispanic literatures and cultures (both Peninsular and Latin America), and Hispanic linguistics. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • For 400- and 500-level courses: Ph.D. in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
  • For 300-level courses: Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
  • For lower-division language courses (100 and 200 level): Terminal M.A. degree in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States of America.
  • Must reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.
  • Must be available on very short notice.

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish language (introductory to advanced)
