About The Position

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool in TESOL to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the MS TESOL degree and the graduate and undergraduate TESOL certificates. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• For 400- and 500-level courses: Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field, and native or near-native fluency in English.
• For 300-level courses: Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field, and native or near-native fluency in English.
• Candidates holding a terminal master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field will be considered for lower-division language courses (100 and 200 level) only.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Legal right to work in the United States of America.
• Must reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.
• Must be available on very short notice.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the MS TESOL degree and the graduate and undergraduate TESOL certificates.
• Teach in the subject areas of L2 Methodology, Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Grammar, and Teacher Supervision.
