Vietnamese - Part-Time Lecturer Pool
About The Position
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton is seeking applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Vietnamese Studies. This role involves teaching undergraduate courses in Vietnamese language, culture, business, art, literature, linguistics, and/or film. The department is looking for individuals to teach in at least two of the following subject areas: Vietnamese Language (Introductory to Advanced), Vietnamese Culture, Civilization, and Contemporary Vietnam, Vietnamese for Business, Vietnamese Literature, Vietnamese Linguistics, and Vietnamese Film. This is a pool from which part-time lecturers will be drawn as needed, and qualified applicants will be contacted when positions become available. Appointments from this pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, requiring applicants to be available on very short notice.
Requirements
- Hold at least a master’s degree in Vietnamese Studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in Vietnamese to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses.
- Hold a Ph.D. (or be a Ph.D. candidate) in Vietnamese Studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in Vietnamese to teach upper-division (300-level) courses.
- Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
- Possess the legal right to work in the United States of America.
- Reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.

Responsibilities
