About The Position

The Department of Philosophy at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: Critical Thinking, Introduction to Logic, Asian Philosophy, Symbolic Logic, Contemporary Moral Issue, and 19th Century Philosophy. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• Hold at least a Master’s degree in Philosophy or a related field.
• Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Be available on very short notice.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Critical Thinking, Introduction to Logic, Asian Philosophy, Symbolic Logic, Contemporary Moral Issue, and 19th Century Philosophy.
• Be available on very short notice for temporary appointments.
• Participate in regular performance evaluations.
• Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading material reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
