About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in various subject areas within Kinesiology. This is a pool from which the department will draw as needed, and qualified applicants will be contacted when positions become available. Appointments from this pool are temporary and often made on short notice, requiring applicants to be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Kinesiology or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • K through 12 (Teacher Education) and/or University-level teaching experience in Kinesiology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with a culturally and ethnically diverse student population.
  • Demonstrated ability/potential to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate education to a diverse student population, including first-generation and under-represented college students.
  • Record of scholarship in their respective area of specialization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching, scholarship, and/or service.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Relevant performance and professional experience.
  • College-level teaching experience in the discipline of Kinesiology.
  • For Athletic Training classes: current Athletic Trainer certification.
  • For Teacher Education classes: K through 12 teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the following subject areas: Anatomy and Physiology, Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Fitness, Gerokinesiology, Legal and ethical Issues in Kinesiology, Motor Control and Learning, Recreation and Physical Activity Promotion, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Strength & Conditioning, Teacher Education.
  • Provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate education to a diverse student population.
  • Contribute to the department's mission of advancing the understanding and practice of human movement across the lifespan.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
