The Kinesiology Department is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time lecturer pool to teach a variety of courses. These include activity-based courses (Swimming, Racquet, Team & Individual Sports, Dance, Aerobics & Fitness, Jogging), lecture-based courses (Exercise for Healthy Living, Exercise Electrocardiography, Clinical Eval Lower & Upper Extremity, Sport & Exercise Psychology, Adapted Physical Education, Movement Education, Sport & Aging, Care of Athletic Injuries, Exercise Physiology of Women, Energy Production & Performance, Exercise Programming, Sleep & Performance), professional physical education pedagogy-based courses (Team & Individual Sports, Student Teaching Supervision), coaching-based courses (Theory of Sport/Fitness Management, Theory of Coaching; Ethics, Inclusion, and Equity in Coaching), and lab-based courses (Motor Learning Control, Applied Exercise Physiology, Applied Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Cardiovascular Testing). Duties involve instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours, with other duties assigned as needed. Course assignments are determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean. Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget, with initial appointments typically for one semester, though academic year appointments may occur. Appointments may be renewed based on departmental needs, funding, and performance. Hires are made when instructional needs arise due to enrollment fluctuations, changes in tenure-track faculty assignments, or other factors not covered by existing faculty.
