About The Position

The Department of Finance at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas: Corporate Finance, Investment, Financial Institutions, International Finance, Real Estate, Risk Management and Insurance. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • MBA or Master Degree, ABD, PhD degree in Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Must be available on very short notice.
  • Complete a complete online application.
  • Provide a Letter of interest or Cover Letter explaining expertise and what courses you are competent to teach and/or interested in teaching.
  • Provide a Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Provide a list of three (3) references with contact information.
  • Provide Sample Courses Syllabi (if available).
  • Provide Summary of teaching experience/course (if available).
  • Provide Copy of your unofficial transcripts conferring your highest terminal degree.
  • Submit an Inclusive Excellence Statement (no more than 500 words).
  • Provide three letters of recommendation before official hire.
  • Provide Official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office emailed to: [email protected] before official hire.
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct if reaching the final stages of the application process.
  • Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Corporate Finance, Investment, Financial Institutions, International Finance, Real Estate, Risk Management and Insurance.
  • Interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Participate in performance evaluations which may include review of syllabi, assignments, and reading material by the departmental personnel committee.
  • Comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment, as a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act.
  • Undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
