About The Position

The Department of History at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the subject areas of U.S. history and History of science. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. degree in History or related field or equivalent experience.
• Prior teaching experience at the university level.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Must be available on very short notice.
• Must disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (only after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer is extended).
• Must sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantial allegation of misconduct (if reaching the final stages of the application process).

Responsibilities

• Teach in the subject areas of U.S. history and History of science.
• Be available on very short notice for appointments.
• Participate in performance evaluations.
• Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading material reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
