About The Position

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in French to teach undergraduate courses in French language, culture, literature, linguistics and/or film (beginners to advanced learners). This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• Hold at least a master’s degree in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses.
• Be at least a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French in order to teach 300-level courses.
• Hold a Ph.D. in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French in order to teach 400-level courses.
• Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Possess the legal right to work in the United States of America.
• Reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.
• Provide a complete online application.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in French language, culture, literature, linguistics and/or film (beginners to advanced learners).
• Teach in at least two of the following subject areas: French Language, Introductory to Advanced French/Francophone Culture, Intermediate to Advanced French/Francophone Literature, Intermediate to Advanced French Linguistics, Intermediate to Advanced.
