About The Position

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Vietnamese Studies to teach undergraduate courses in Vietnamese language, culture, business, art, literature, linguistics and/or film. Areas of Specialization We are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals to teach in at least two of the following subject areas: Vietnamese Language, Introductory to Advanced Vietnamese Culture, Civilization, and Contemporary Vietnam Vietnamese for Business Vietnamese Literature Vietnamese Linguistics Vietnamese Film This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

Requirements

Hold at least a master’s degree in Vietnamese Studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in Vietnamese to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses.
Hold a Ph.D. (or be a Ph.D. candidate) in Vietnamese Studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in Vietnamese in order to teach upper-division (300-level) courses.
Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
Possess the legal right to work in the United States of America.
Reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.
