About The Position

Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool in the Machine Manufacturing Technology Department at the Sylvania Campus. This pool is used to identify applicants for part-time faculty assignments, including substitute and full-term class assignments, as the need arises during the academic year. PCC is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, committed to making high-quality education accessible and contributing to community economic development.

Requirements

Associate of Applied Science or equivalent degree in Machine Manufacturing Technology or a related field OR Completion of a formal training program in machining (e.g., 4-year Journeyman Apprenticeship, or 2+ year Technical Trade School in machining).
Five years of relevant industry experience using at least four of the following machine tools: Sawing machines, Turning machines, Milling machines, Drilling machines, Grinding machines, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines (turning center machines and machining center machines).
Teaching experience in secondary or post-secondary assignments may substitute for recent industry experience at a rate of 1.5 years of teaching for 1 year of industry experience.
For courses with embedded related instruction:
For Computation in MCH 120 and 280: College-level algebra on college transcript.
For Computation in MCH 130 and 272: College-level trigonometry on college transcript.
For Communication in MCH 130, 272 and 280: Documented supervisory experience.
Must reside in Oregon or Washington.
Must be able to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.
