About The Position

Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking applicants for Part-Time Faculty assignments in the Veterinary Technology Department at the Rock Creek Campus. This is an interest pool, meaning applications will be reviewed as the need arises for new part-time faculty. Your application may be considered for substitute or full-term class assignments. PCC is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, committed to making high-quality education accessible and contributing to community economic development. The Veterinary Technology program offers Associate of Applied Science degrees and certificate programs.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree or equivalent in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in a veterinary hospital, clinic, research facility, or equivalent.
  • State of Oregon Certification as a licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT), or license-eligible with license acquired prior to initial teaching assignment.
  • OR Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
  • Veterinary licensure in the State of Oregon by the Oregon Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, or license-eligible with license acquired prior to initial teaching assignment.
  • Ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.
  • Official transcripts required within 2 weeks of offer date for required degrees.
  • Academic credentials must be from a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
  • Transcripts from foreign institutions will require evaluation by agencies in good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the Veterinary Technology Department, including VT102, VT103, VT104, VT107, VT108, VT109, VT110, VT111, VT112, VT203, VT204, VT205, VT207, VT208, VT210, VT211, VT280.
  • Potentially teach substitute assignments or full-term class assignments.
