About The Position

Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking applicants for a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool for Aviation Maintenance Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. This pool is used to identify potential faculty members as the need arises for course assignments during the academic year, including substitute and full-term assignments. PCC is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, committed to making high-quality education accessible and contributing to community economic development. The department will review applications from this pool as needs arise.

Requirements

Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology or other vehicle service field.
Valid FAA Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.
Minimum of five years of experience exercising the privileges of both the Airframe and Powerplant mechanic ratings.
If presenting a certificate with a single rating, teaching will be limited to subject material related to that rating.
Official transcripts required within 2 weeks of offer date for required degrees.
Academic credentials must be from a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
Transcripts from other countries will be evaluated by NACES-approved agencies.
Must reside in Oregon or Washington.
Ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.

Nice To Haves

Five years of experience teaching at the college level or in an aviation maintenance training department (may be substituted year-for-year for aviation mechanic experience).

Responsibilities

Teach Aviation Maintenance Technology courses.
Present course material related to Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
Potentially teach related instruction courses (refer to Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructor Qualifications page for specifics).
