About The Position

Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool for Bioscience Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. This pool is used to identify potential faculty members as the need arises for new part-time instructors. Applications may be considered for both substitute and full-term class assignments. PCC is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, committed to making high-quality education accessible and contributing to community economic development. The department is looking for individuals who can teach current PCC courses in Bioscience Technology. Applicants are asked to list the PCC courses they are qualified to teach as part of their application.

Requirements

Master’s degree in subject area AND Equivalent of 3 years full-time, non-teaching experience in the field OR Master’s degree in related area plus 30 quarter hours credit in upper division coursework in subject areas AND Equivalent of 3 years full-time, non-teaching experience in the field OR Bachelor’s degree in subject area AND Equivalent of 4 years full-time, non-teaching experience in the field OR Bachelor’s degree in related area plus 30 quarter hours upper division course work in subject area AND Equivalent of 4 years full-time, non-teaching experience in the field OR AAS degree in subject area or professional education AND Equivalent of 5 years full-time, non-teaching experience in the field.
Ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.
Official transcripts required within 2 weeks of offer date for required degrees.
Academic credentials must be from a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
For credentials from other countries, transcripts must be evaluated by agencies in good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned Bioscience Technology courses.
Potentially substitute for other faculty.
Identify current PCC courses within Bioscience Technology that you are able to teach.
