About The Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications for Part-time Faculty openings for the Medical Assisting Program. This position is open for courses starting Fall 2023 and beyond. The program is looking for individuals to teach courses such as MA 112, MA 117, MA 114, MA 120, MA 118, MA 131 & MA 132. Requirements

Associate degree or three years of experience working directly with Medical Assisting students or new hire MAs in a leadership and/or training role.
Certified Medical Assistant credentialed through the AAMA, NHA, NCCT or AMT.
Three years experience working as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
For MA 117 and MA 112: Math 60 or tested higher than Math 60 (Computation).
For MA 117 and MA 112: Writing 121 or equivalent (Communication).

Nice To Haves

Classroom teaching experience
Management or supervisory experience
Primary Care or Internal Medicine experience

Responsibilities

Teach courses within the Medical Assisting Program, including MA 112, MA 117, MA 114, MA 120, MA 118, MA 131 & MA 132.
Potentially teach related instruction in computation and communication for specific MA courses (MA 117, MA 112) if instructors meet additional requirements.
