About The Position

Portland Community College is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool for the Nursing Assistant program at the Sylvania Campus. This pool is for potential instructors in lecture/lab and clinical settings. Applications will be considered for both substitute and full-term class assignments. The role involves supervising, instructing, and evaluating nursing assistant students in clinical or lab settings. Communication will primarily be with the director of the Nursing Assistant program. Requirements

  • Hold a current Oregon RN license (for primary instructor)
  • Have at least two years’ experience as an RN (for primary instructor)
  • Have evidence of completion of a course on teaching adults, or one year of experience teaching adults (for primary instructor)
  • Hold a current Oregon RN or LPN license (for Clinical Instructors and Instructors for Lecture/Lab)
  • Have the equivalent of at least one year of experience as a licensed nurse (for Clinical Instructors and Instructors for Lecture/Lab)
  • Reside in Oregon or Washington
  • Official transcripts required within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees.
  • Academic credentials must be from a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, instructs, and evaluates nursing assistant students in a clinical setting.
  • Instructs and evaluates nursing assistant students in the lab setting.
  • Supervises between 4 to 6 students at one time in a clinical setting.
  • Provides instruction in lecture/lab and clinical settings.
