About The Position

This full-time 10-month faculty member will have a teaching and service workload spread across three academic terms spanning Fall, Winter and Spring. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Nursing, Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing will implement the pedagogical strategies developed to support a concept-competency based curricular framework while critically appraising the designed curriculum for necessary quality improvement. Rank will be determined based on credentials and experience. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience
  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience
  • Current unencumbered RN license in Illinois or the ability to gain unencumbered licensure in Illinois

Responsibilities

  • Teach in undergraduate BSN program as appropriate to clinical/experiential and educational expertise as identified by program need.
  • Employ a variety of teaching/learning strategies in the classroom to provide engaged, active learning instruction.
  • Implement the curriculum as designed.
  • Engage in service activities consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the School of Nursing, the university and the profession.
  • Engage in curriculum oversight through assigned course management activities.
  • Engage in on-going professional development.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and student-centered approaches.
