About The Position
Innovation Learning is hiring a Resilience Coach for the 2026–2027 school year at the school-based program site at Westfield School in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. The role helps create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop life skills, and thrive. It combines mentorship, enrichment, recreation, and academic support. This part-time position follows a Monday–Friday morning schedule from 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Westfield Elementary School in Winthrop Harbor, plus Wednesdays from 2:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at St. Patricks in Wadsworth. Additional afternoon hours may be available at Westfield on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays on a substitute/on-call basis. Pay is $19–$21 per hour, based on experience and region. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background screenings and licensing requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development.
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations.
- Prior leadership experience in a childcare setting.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Responsibilities

- Lead enrichment, recreation, and team-building activities.
- Facilitate homework help and academic support sessions.

- Help students develop social-emotional and leadership skills.
- Assist with daily program setup and cleanup.
- Support student check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Follow company policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures.
