About The Position

AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students in a fun, safe environment. The Before and After School Teacher Assistant helps create meaningful school-day experiences that support children’s learning, growth, and well-being. The role assists with program activities, prioritizes child safety, maintains an organized space, and helps children feel supported and included. The position is located at Waldorf Charles County Elementary Schools and pays $15.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–9:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m.; the posting also says the employee must be flexible to meet program staffing needs. Requirements

High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
Three to six months of experience in a childcare educational setting.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.
Enjoy working with children in a structured, high-energy environment.
Take child safety seriously and follow procedures closely.
Be flexible, reliable, and ready to help where needed.

Assist with daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
Encourage positive interactions among peers.
Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures.
Keep the space clean and organized.
Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
