Before and After School Teacher Assistant
About The Position
AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs that engage students in a fun, safe environment. The Before and After School Teacher Assistant helps deliver meaningful before- and after-school experiences that support children’s learning, growth, and well-being. The role assists with curriculum activities, promotes positive interactions, prioritizes child safety, and helps maintain an organized and inclusive space. The position is part-time, with morning hours from 6:00–9:15 AM and/or afternoon hours from 3:00–6:30 PM, at schools in Gainesville and Bristow, Virginia. No weekends are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.
- Must pass a background screening and Central Registry check.

Responsibilities
- Assist with daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
- Encourage positive peer interactions.
- Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures.
- Keep the space clean and organized.
- Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
- Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
