About The Position

The City of Topeka’s Parking Division is seeking a Parking Control Officer I to perform parking enforcement duties in Topeka’s central business district. The position involves walking or driving a provided city vehicle along assigned enforcement routes and assisting with the enforcement, installation, and removal of Vehicle Immobilization Devices. The role is year-round and full-time, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and work is performed in all weather conditions. Duties include collecting parking tickets from payment boxes, collecting coins from parking meters, issuing parking tickets, and answering questions from the public. The entry rate of pay is $16.63 per hour. The City of Topeka offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver’s license and a city-insurable driving record, which must be maintained.
One year of public relations or customer service experience.
